I met Jonathan Ikemura a few years ago when we were shooting a video for MOSLEY TRIBES with the social trust and Jon was the videographer back in 2009. Since then Jon has been flexing his creative skills in Illustration, Photography and video. Just caught this photo on the web this morning via his FB account and had to post it, love that MOSLEY TRIBES is a designers brand and that creative individuals recognize how timeless the Lyndel is, MOSLEY TRIBES Eyewear truly fuses style and function. Glad to see Jon flexing the Lyndels as an optical style.
So as some of you might have heard, the MOSLEY crew spent some time in a remote area of the Hawaiian Islands. It was a life changing experience for some who have only experienced the concrete jungle. We were well equipped for this journey and will be relaunching the site in January which will visually explain it all. Till next year.
So a few weeks back i finally had the opportunity to connect with Shawn and Danny of The LoveWright Co., and was graced with an amazing terry crew sweater. This past Friday i received one of there new product offering called the “Califas” boot via Etnies Plus, LWR has combined forces to create a boot that is all quality, style and function with the world renown sole from Vibram. Here at MOSLEY TRIBES we are all about the reinterpretation of timeless classics and this boot is clearly that. I have to thank Shawn and Danny for these amazing boots these are definitely ready to be broken in, i know i will have theses for a very long time.
A little history on the Vibram Sole: In 1935, Vitale Bramani led an expedition into the Italian Alps. The climbers used heavy, hobnailed boots for the approach, but then switched to thin-soled rock climbing boots for the assault. These climbing boots proved fatal when the expedition was hit by thick fog and a blizzard. Six climbers died from frostbite and exposure.
Vibram soles have gone on to conquer Mt. Everest, indeed since 1962 Vibram soles have been on the shoes of K2 conquerors and still now the interest for the competitive ascent and researching the Himalayas and on Karakorum is very much alive. Vibram often takes part in the expedition organized by the CNR (Italian National Research Council) to reach what many define as “the roof of the world”: Everest. On this mountain, at the altitude of 16,568 feet, is the laboratory “Pyramid Observatory”. This facility was created for the purpose of developing high-altitude scientific and technological activities for testing products and executing medical and physiological research. Vibram had detailed studies done on its new products at the Pyramid. By relying on the great experience of the mountain-climbers and technicians of world renown laboratories, Vibram conducted tests whose results are considered absolute, the utmost safety guarantee for mountain- climbers throughout the world.
Puro Califas, from the streets to the mountain tops
The deep bourdoix color is the truth, always worn unlaced with tongues out..
This past friday I had the oppertunity to style MOSLEY into the LWR shoot @ the social trust, I have to say that the new lyndel in fatigue green is amazing, it totally went with many of the looks that were featured, stay tuned for the complete fall looks from The LoveWright Co.
Here is a small photo recap on this past Thursday and the preview of The Native Perspective short film. I just want to thank all the people that pulled together to make this film possible, our next stop will be film festivals wish us luck.
So it jumped off, the 722 showroom got packed out, our PR girl Cassie B. enjoyed the flick (dead center)
Good to see old friends come out and peep our flick.
I just received photos today from paul and the boys over at The Social Trust, and wow they are really amazing. This is the crew that rolled out to Santa Fe (minus Darrin he lives there) to document life and art. It was a great trip and look forward to our short film that we will be releasing soon. Just want to thank these guys for all there hard work that they have put into this project, and i can see now that it will turn heads. Expect the unexpected from MOSLEY TRIBES.
Santa Fe, New Mexico captures an essence much overlooked in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. In a world where we are so driven to “do”, we often forget to simply “be”. The rich soil, lush landscape, and crisp air reminded me of the fact that there is a much larger world outside my own. What a refreshing change of scenery. It wasn’t all sightseeing though. Mosley Tribes in conjunction with The Social Trust handled business for the upcoming Mosley Tribes Fall/Winter 2010 season. Here are some pictures taken along the way.
So here it is, at the years end we want to share with you our vision of the of this season with a little flim that we put together. I want to thank all the people involved who helped make this happen. The whole creative team @ The Social Trust for being our close cohorts for the last few years, you guys killed it. Nicole and Alex thanks for being a part of this project, also to our bothers from APOLIS ACTIVISM who always provide the cleanest fits you guys are always appreciated. Thank you MEGA (BLVCK SCVLE) for the location on the fly, i worked out perfectly. Big ups to the homie Flynn Adam for the score, the music was the icing on the cake thanks so much. So enjoy it and share it.
So Mr. Flynn Adam cruised up to Sunset to meet with me, Paul and Jon from The Social Trust. We are wrapping up the final cut of the MOSLEY TRIBES video and Flynn was putting the score together for us.
Paul and Jon (The Social Trust) Jon recently joined the TST team, he is bringing the motion photography and video to the next level.
