Mark_Contreras_MT_Burke

Yesterday  I ran into my good friend BJ (Crooks) down on the Plaza and he was with one of the Crooks team riders Mark Contreras at the Crooks & Castles HQ.  Come to find out that Mark is from Newport Beach and has been surfing since really young, and after watching his current video i can see that he has pure raw talent because he can rip.  Here at MOSLEY TRIBES we are all about supporting our local homies and Mark is for sure one of them.  Mark had a minute so he came upstairs and was super stoked to try on the MOSLEY TRIBES Burke in Tortoise.  Be on the look out for Mark surfing his local breaks of Newport and San Clemente.

I know that LA doesn’t have the best snow in the world but we are always thankful for a good pacific northwest storm to roll thru our part of town and dump 30 to 40 inches of powder in our local mountains.  Time to head to the hills and shred.

Jazzy

So prior to last week the MT crew jumped on a plane and landed in paradise (also know as Kauai, Hawaii) to shoot our next campagin in the sun. The epic waterfalls, coves, and mountian tops were the backdrop to the amazing collection to come. We will be dropping a new site in the beginning of 2011 showcasing the amazing photography once again by The Social Trust. In the photo above is Jazzy who is one of the main players in the MT brand and my counterpart who helped get all the styling and looks together for our shoot. Peep her fashion blog (Nature at its Finest) with many more photos and cometary about our expeditionary excursion to the Garden Isle.

The Best of Both Worlds

hbspout2

So this past week here in Cali we were bombarded with winter type weather, being from Los Angeles winter would be defined as cold (50 degrees) with rain and and wind.  This time we were lucky enough to get a water spout/cyclone of the coast in Huntington Beach that caused minor damage. I love it when the news channels get into “storm watch” mode.  Fortunately us Californians and the too many transplants that reside here  can call the last 4 days of mild weather a winter storm.  We can hardly call this crazy weather in comparison to the rest of the country that knows what a wind chill is.  But the silver lining to all this is that we can definitely count on the SNOWBEACH effect. The snow is about 2.5 hours away from the surf, get boardin.
