Ironically, Rickey (Evil Monito) came by and brought the Maestro with him to talk about upcoming projects here at the OLIVER PEOPLES offices, and just yesterday i had posted his video about skating in the yeezys and there is also a flick with him and sunny up in SF. I had met the Maestro once before but it has been a minute since we have connected. So Jasmine, Rickey and myself all got caught up on the goings on in the street.

So yesterday i had breakfast with my good friend Mike Abe who is a designer for a brand called Jaded by Knight. He is really involved in designing collections and private label for other people. Currently he is also working on his own line that will first consist of a woman’s collection.
If any of you have ever been to Urth Cafe in Beverly Hills you know the quality of coffee and tea along with the very savory menu of sandwiches and salads. This is the Downtown location that just opened up near the artist district . The location is one block east of Alameda, and is a street that almost seems like an alley. I really like this location better than the BH one because the vibe of the patrons is way cooler than the peeps that frequent the BH location.
I really like the outdoor patio.
I got the Egg White with green chile and avocado breakfast sandwich on an artisan sourdough roll.
Mike got the Leek and Bacon Quiche which was on point.

So the MT crew was in attendance at the annual Cathy’s Kids charity event, MT was one of the contributor for the silent auction. It was great to see many people in attendance that were supporting a great cause. Thank you Steve (Take Out Enterprises) for helping this all go down.

I just cleaned my desk.
Just want to shout out Bart, Erik, Kevin and Kim over at 530 media for the dope hat that they sent me. 530 teamed up with hat retailer Hall of Fame to create this piece that is simple and impressive. I have always loved the Owl logo that 530 has used. When i think of an Owl it brings ideas of wisdom, knowledge and timelessness. I would describe the sound of this new collective called ROOTBEER featuring Pigeon John and Flynn Adam as something like “MGMT injected with some N.E.R.D and A Tribe Called Quest”. As clearly evident in their lyrics and style, Flynn Adam and Pigeon John are unapologetic purveyors of popular culture. Rather than making an escape attempt on this debut to something that was some subtle artistic departure from the Lost Angels-flavored West Coast underground laid back rap that raised them, the duo has grown more apt to fully open their arms and embrace a vast array of what is relative to their own contemporary culture consumption today.
