So as some of you might have heard, the MOSLEY crew spent some time in a remote area of the Hawaiian Islands. It was a life changing experience for some who have only experienced the concrete jungle. We were well equipped for this journey and will be relaunching the site in January which will visually explain it all. Till next year.

This box showed up on my desk today, was really surprised to see VANS packing label on the side. I have to say that the new OTW Collection from VANS is really my style, the silhouettes that are present are definitely inspired by the traditional icons that we all grew up with. It is clear to me that the OTW Collection’s main focus is on the details, materials and comfort. (Top to Bottom) This Hi Top Alomar has a wool upper mixed with leather piping and waxed laces, next on deck is the lo Larkin with suede toe and patent leather details that makes this tonal story epic. Not sure if these are out in the market yet (hope not), def going to be rocking them as I stroll down Sunset Plaza. Great looks to the crew over at OTW this made my day.

The homie Alex Beh and GF JLH in came thru the office this morning, had the pleasure of fitting them and catching a flix on there way out. JLH was caught in the new OLIVER PEOPLES style that is hot in the streets called “Lips Of Fire” such a classic look and Alex is rocking the new Burke in black. Thanks fam it was great to see you both today.

So prior to last week the MT crew jumped on a plane and landed in paradise (also know as Kauai, Hawaii) to shoot our next campagin in the sun. The epic waterfalls, coves, and mountian tops were the backdrop to the amazing collection to come. We will be dropping a new site in the beginning of 2011 showcasing the amazing photography once again by The Social Trust. In the photo above is Jazzy who is one of the main players in the MT brand and my counterpart who helped get all the styling and looks together for our shoot. This week was Market Week in NY, our team out there has been hustling long hours meeting with the right buyers that will make our coming season a huge success. After speaking with Kristin over the phone this morning and recapping the whole week. She filled me in on buyers response to the collection ( which has continued to be amazing throughout all market segments) and the little amount of sleep she got, and after receiving this photo in my in-box it all became clear to me how crazy her week had been. Mosley Tribes and Oliver Peoples team on the east coast attended the premier event in the accessories market called the Annual ACE Awards high fashion accessories designers and design houses were applauded for there creative collections of 2010. Kristin and Jon Carlo conversed with Mr. West for a brief moment at the awards dinner and thanked him for his continued support of Mosley Tribes and Oliver Peoples. Thank you sir we look forward to more great looks from you.

This past Friday I had the pleasure to cruise east from the office to meet up with the 722 Figueroa crew over at Eastside Market and experience a Los Angeles landmark since way back when. I love these type of spots that are off the beaten path that are local focused and have been weathered the storms of municipal change. This non descript street corner you will get the best hot sandwiches of your life, sorry Phillipes we are still down with you.
We were lucky enough to not have to wait, 5 minutes later there was a line out the door.

Here is a little history run down on the Eastside Market. It was opened in 1929 and was owned and operated by Joe Campagna and Domenic Pontrelli. In 1959 Johnny Angiuli started as a clean-up boy for Pontrelli & Laricchia and eventually learned the butcher trade. His brother Frank Angiuli joined the company in 1964 as a driver. In 1974 Johnny and Frank Angiuli became owners and operators of the Eastside Market, and started the Deli with the most delicious sandwiches in Los Angeles, the most popular being sandwich #7, Hot Roast Beef & Pastrami. Today Eastside Market is a valued Family owned business serving the Los Angeles Downtown area and surroundings. It has been awarded several awards for its incomparable deliciousness of the sandwiches.
Thanks Chris (722 Figueroa Showroom) for lunch, as you can see below i went for it. Meatball sub was amazing,from the marinara sauce to the roasted peppers and basil i was in heaven.
This was a great way to end the week. So if you are in LA or will be passing thru you need to stop by the Eastside Market and grab lunch and something for later.
