For the last few weeks here at the MOSLEY TRIBES HQ we have known about the great placement of the Red Bromley in the upcoming blockbuster film The Hangover II. We have caught a few glimpses of it in the 2nd trailer that was released, but today while i was driving in to the office I caught sight of a billboard that was promoting the new collectors cups at 7-11. From my vantage point i could make out what looked like the Bromley on the face of Mr. Chow ( actor Ken Jeong). As you can see below Alan (actor Zach Galifianakis) is also wearing the same frame, I think that Alan starts the movie with the frames one and halfway thru Mr. Chow com-endears them.
Also featured in this movie is the OLIVER PEOPLES Benedict worn by Phil (actor Bradley Cooper), we never expected to get such great consumer press like this. So go out and get yours, they are great for your office or low pro beach beverage.
We want to thank our amazing PR team and Jamie Katz for the great work.
I had the pleasure today to catch up with the homie Darin Maki. Darin is back in LA from Japan where he lives and plays basketball professionally for the Tokyo Apache. He has be rocking MOSLEY TRIBES for a while now and it is always good to hear whats good in Japan. It was really interesting to get a first hand account of what went down in Tokyo during the earthquake. Darin said that it shook for a really long time and that he ran out of his building down on the street and it was completely crazy with glass falling, bricks and power lines all over the place. Darin got out 5 days after the quake to come stay with his fam here in So. Cal. We wish him and all our Japanese family our prayers.
Still in the shoe game.
Check out this video where Darin talks about his shoe collection.
Day Job.
The Hayes in Black and Gold are the new look. Thanks Buddy.
On the streets of Buenos Aires, we caught Matt Bellamy lead singer of MUSE rocking the Beaded Lyndel, nice to see that it is still making its way around the world. A little closer to home, Joe Jonas was see wearing the MOSLEY TRIBES Burke in Military Green in the streets of Hollywood, great look guys.
This past week i had a minute to cruise to Downtown LA to see an old friend and check out the new mens line G.P.P.R. Bam Barcena is the Designer and Founder of this line that reiterates masculine style, attention to detail and comfort. Bam has a long history in fashion and it is great to see him come out with his own line that really reverberates his vision and style. In the studio you can see his influences everywhere, what caught my eye was the 10 hole Doc Martin Steelies with the white laces, it is funny how the past has caught up with me. I believe that both Bam and I grew up loving the Ska Punk scene (circa 90’s) of So. Cal. and the style that was present then emulates from the designs and colors of that era. Below is a great song from the past that will play along nicely with this post.
I have to say that this line is paired with great wovens, jackets, and denim that really give this collection a well rounded look.
Full Japanese Demin that was so soft and broken in, goodbye A.P.C / Love the paper canvas hang tag great detail.
Studio coffee table, inspiration all around, and semi-rimless is always a good look.
Its rough in the streets.
Here is a sneak peek at next season, the denim jacket is on fire. Peep Revolve Clothing for current collection and pick them up.
Here @ Mosley Tribes we are always focused on the functional factor of daily life. So here is an example of a you will find in our pockets, belt loops and wrists. I was put on to the voyeuristic site Everyday Carry by my good friend The Commodore and now want to give you a glimpse into our world. So here is a list of our EDC. Would love to see what you carry and how MOSLEY TRIBES fits into your life. Please post photos to our FB page.
I know that LA doesn’t have the best snow in the world but we are always thankful for a good pacific northwest storm to roll thru our part of town and dump 30 to 40 inches of powder in our local mountains. Time to head to the hills and shred.
This season MOSLEY TRIBES has partnered with LA based Temple Bag Co. to release an amazing hip pack that is made with materials from another era. Each bag is hand made in Downtown Los Angeles with materials salvaged from WWII. The pack is made from salvaged Italian and German canvas, the frame sleve is constructed from actual parachute material and rip stop cords, then finished off with gilded metal fasteners and oiled saddle leather. The inspiration for this case came from a cold war Russian SKS rifle that i had received from my late grandfather, and with this rifle came the ammunition pouch that had stood the test of time. So I approached Temple Bags with my idea and the collab was born. So today we share with you the exclusive version that will be available at all Barneys Co-op retailers this Monday and also online, the feature frame is the Tana Aviator with Green Mirror Lenses.
