One of our so.cal key accounts Primitive was profiled on hypebeast.com this past week and did interviews with P.Rod and the key players of this establishment.

Jay who is the VP of Primitive gave MT a shout out, you will catch him in the streets rocking the Hillyard’s all day. Jay’s quote “Sunglasses are a necessity for me when it’s bright out, and in L.A. that’s pretty often. Right now my favorite pair is the Hillyard from Mosley Tribes. The frame is a stately, yet simple modern design. I picked up a second pair and had my prescription lenses put in the frame for when I don’t feel like wearing my contact lenses. This has caused more than a few people to think I’m trying to look super cool indoors when I’m just trying to see what the hell is in front of me.”  Peep the rest of the interview on hypebeast.

Etnies_Plus2

This past week i received a box from my friend Jannio who works for ETNIES+.

sal23

The last pair of ETNIES that i wore was back in ‘96, which was the SLB 23 model by pro skateboarder Sal Barbier. I think i still have them in my closet somewhere, super classic skate low that will always have that timeless clean look.

Etnies_Plus1

I was excited to see that the box contained the ETNIES+ FreshJive collaborative chukka, i have to say that this is the most comfortable shoe that i have worn in a while. I love the minimalist design aesthetic and canvas upper of this shoe, its definitely a good look. So check out some of the new offerings by ETNIES+

PL57-20091

Splitting his time between his day job on Wall Street and working his family’s Santa Barbara ranch, Patrick Lindsey’s true passion is racing the Porsche 911 GT3 in the World Challenge GT Series. This bicoastal financier has one goal in mind, victory for the 57. But win or lose, this 27 year old is doing something all of us wish we could—he is living his dream.

From 2007 to 2009 Patrick took the top step of the podium seven times in the American Iron Series. Beginning in 2007 Patrick partnered with team owner and soon to be brother-in-law John Horton to take his racing career to the next level, racing in the professional World Challenge Touring Car Series.  So far in his professional racing career, Patrick has qualified 2nd three times, recording a podium finish in 2009 as well as notching a number of additional race awards. Patrick is just getting started, as racing commentary legend Tom Hnatiw puts it, “Patrick is a rising star on the racing circuit.”

This past Friday me and Stephan cruised to Santa Barbara to meet up with my buddy Stenn Parton (APOLIS) and Patrick Lindsey.  It was a great drive to go up to SB and see the Cali coastline and not a cubicle. We met up with the race team at the Horton Racing garage where Pat and his team work on their Porsche 911.

So this is our view from the office, a 40 ft Tecate beer can.  You know who is ready for tomorrow, oh and it is Mexico’s independence from France, not sure why we celebrate but any excuse to have a cold one.
