A Snapshot of Santa Fe

MT_SantaFe_blog3

Santa Fe, New Mexico captures an essence much overlooked in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. In a world where we are so driven to “do”, we often forget to simply “be”. The rich soil, lush landscape, and crisp air reminded me of the fact that there is a much larger world outside my own. What a refreshing change of scenery. It wasn’t all sightseeing though. Mosley Tribes in conjunction with The Social Trust handled business for the upcoming Mosley Tribes Fall/Winter 2010 season. Here are some pictures taken along the way.

A NATIVE PERSPECTIVE

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

MT_BLOG_Santa_Fe

I know that i have not posted in a minute so here is a quick recap of the last 2 weeks. So me and the crew from The Social Trust decided to not go to PROJECT trade show and actually go to a place that doesn’t not shorten our life on this earth. We drove from Los Angeles to Santa Fe, NM which took us about 15 hours to get to, with intermittent stops to out of the way towns, abandon buildings, meteor craters, and Wendys.  So I really don’t want to give it all away but the reason for our trip was to get in touch and understand the rich native culture and art of the south west. The hub of this artistic revolution is in the pueblo of Santa Fe, New Mexico which was our final destination. So we have a few films that will be coming out in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned.

Some of you might be fortunate enough actually know who these gentlemen are.  This image captures some of the heaviest hitters in footwear and beyond and i would have to say that if you have ever been in the shoe game and keep up with the illest kicks, these are the guys who are responsible for many past, present and future footwear collections and amazing retail stores.  Campin out for a shoe drop has become a culture here in the west coast, more so in Los Angeles. La Brea and Fairfax ave have become the mecca for many shoe collectors and this saturday at the UNDFTD on La Brea the new GOURMET + UNDFTD Quattro releases at ALL Undftd locations.  Feb. 15th on our online shop.  Feb. 22nd worldwide.

MOSLEY TRIBES has teamed up with Men’s Contemporary Design House NATIVE SON (nativesondesigns.com <http://nativesondesigns.com> ) to produce a collaborative frame that reflects the current collection. MT and NS reinterpreted the staple MT style “Lyndel” and used a matte tungsten acetate that was hand molded and is also translucent, it also features quadrilateral gunmetal inlay on the frame front. This frame will come in 3 lens options a Brown Mineral Glass Photochromic, Mineral Glass Grey, and anti-reflectant clear for optical customers. This Frame will be available this summer in select US and Japan boutiques.

NATIVE SON is a Los Angeles based luxury menswear label created by former Band of Outsiders assistant Kyle Fitzgibbons. The collection is predominantly built around tailored suit separates, outerwear, and shirting. The garments are 100% US made and current retailers include OPENING CEREMONY, ESTNATION (Japan) and Beams International Gallery (Japan) NATIVE SON and MOSLEY also teamed up with Photographer Eric Gray Davis to shoot a 3-D film that will be the first fashion look book to be shot in HiDef 3-d (FOR NATIVE SON). The short was shot in Downtown Los Angeles in an abandoned warehouse. (images Attached) We are debuting it the first day of mens fashion week in New York at Pier 59 on the 11th of this month. We will also be releaseing the online 2D version right after the event, I will keep you posted. MOSLEY TRIBES, NATIVE SON, Red Wing and Temple Bags are all participants in this Fashion Week event.
