So this past week here in Cali we were bombarded with winter type weather, being from Los Angeles winter would be defined as cold (50 degrees) with rain and and wind. This time we were lucky enough to get a water spout/cyclone of the coast in Huntington Beach that caused minor damage. I love it when the news channels get into “storm watch” mode. Fortunately us Californians and the too many transplants that reside here can call the last 4 days of mild weather a winter storm. We can hardly call this crazy weather in comparison to the rest of the country that knows what a wind chill is. But the silver lining to all this is that we can definitely count on the SNOWBEACH effect. The snow is about 2.5 hours away from the surf, get boardin.
Gotta love the double overhead (Huntington Beach)
Local Mountians in Wrightwood, Ca…..love it so powdery.
So i was cruisin through the office this morning and i saw that it was Shaina’s B Day today so went over to wish her a happy one. As i stopped over to chat and update her on a project that i am working i see.
SWEET CHILI SAUCE….which can only mean one thing!
Glorious Lumpia (like an egg roll only better)…This Filipino delight is a wonderful way to start your day off…and i definitely came correct on this one. Shaina’s mom had made them fresh this morning and boy were they tasty.
So the homie B.Walnum is at it again with another photo battle, he has been shooting skate for a minute now and is really killin it. Take some time to vote for his photo at the URL below.
Caught this one on GOURMETINYOURFACE.com today, have to say that this movie is gonna be a hit, Jon said it best “It’s like Wes Anderson did a skateboard movie, what could be better?” I totally agree with him, watch this trailer and i can wait for the the full length and happy friday.

So our good friends at RVCA have taken over Sal Barbier’s old spot (SLB) on the corner of Streetwear and New Era (Fairfax & Rosewood to out of towners) and bringin with them good vibes and great designs. You should pop in and check out the new collection and take a stroll to Cantors and have the Pastrami and Maza Ball Soup, delish.
Paying a visual homage to Frank Lloyd Wright’s celebrated design for New York’s ‘Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum‘, the newly opened ‘The Wright‘ Restaurant and Bar, located within the 1950s architectural classic, is designed by ‘designers to watch’, Andre Kikoski Architects. Taking a clear visual lead from the exteriors sleek, innovative design, the restaurant’s opening commemorates the 50th anniversary of the museum and is a fitting tribute with it’s contemporary design and cosmopolitan mood, ably assisted by British artist Liam Gillick’s wonderfully vivid commissioned installation. Seasonal, local and sustainable ingredients form the modern American menu which includes mouth-watering delights such as “Dry Aged Beef Sirloin with Bone Marrow Port Shallot Marmalade” Amazing.
