So after the amazing dinner by the office i jumped into the ride and mashed down the 101 to the FUTURA art show. Last night was the Opening VIP night, this was the first time i have seen his work up close and personal. It is great that he is showing in Downtown LA, i love the downtown area for its raw grittiness and one way streets. It was great to run into many friends last night and enjoy the creative atmosphere that surrounded us. A few celebs that dont need to be mentioned were there but who cares, i dont. The art was the draw and it deffinitly drew the crouds. If you have a chance this weekend swing by 6th and main for the real deal. Have a great weekend, i am outta here.

Brazilian rum with fresh citrus juices and marinated pineapple, thirst quencher.

So i tagged along with Rickey who is the new LA Editor over at 944 magazine. He is shaken things up over there. We went to be schooled in the culinary arts for the evening. Masa the photog was snapping away, you can read more about the food and the experience in its entirety when the new issues drops in a few weeks. The Food was epic, garden fresh pesto with whole wheat pasta and garlic flowers, grilled romaine with diced roma tomotoes and shaved parmasan with a pesto aoli on the side was the truth.

So me and Raan (APOLIS) hung out after the grind yesterday and chopped it up at the local taco truck spot out in East LA / Boyle Heights area. First off, rookies don’t try and roll out there if you are not in tune with the peeps down there. Locals only, this spot is right across the street from the infamous Estrada Courts Housing Project. As real as it gets. So we killed some shrimp tacos, these were dorado style (Fried). We also downed two mulitas, which are two tortillas sandwiched together with meat and melted chesse topped off with avocado and salsa. Hungry yet?
