PRJCT Recap

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Got my gear and bounced to Project trade show in the concrete jungle of Las Vegas.

Peeps count wait to get off the plane, view from the last row. Not as cool as when you were a kid and you always wanted the back seat.

This was the first sign that I saw in the convention center, so true.

Everyone is going green with the freebee bags this year. Hemp is in.

Artsy crap. What is it?

Got to the booth…check out our # we are now part of the project matrix. This show is so huge it felt like there were thousands of retailers.

The Passes

When you are at a trade show it is always good to come equipped with some hand sanitizer. Here you see the one the MOSLEY created for last years show. I still got mine and put it to use. So many hand shakes, gotta keep your paws clean.

This is the motto of Vegas, sleep on the plane son.

The new range in your face, better yet on your face.

Jaz the sales master chopin it up with the homies from Hawaii, island style.

Here are our good friends from The Attic in Buena Park, CA holding in down for north orange county. The MT crew will be going down there soon to give you an in store look and interviw. Stay Tuned. The Attic

More Vegas randomness to come.

GOLD

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Another Solid Gold event for The States. It was great to see the Spaniards get pounded on. When your star player is Pau Gasol and some 17 year old kid that no one has ever heard of who does and1 mixtape moves you’ve got problems. Gasol and his brother were playing garbage ball all night, Gasol shoots misses and his bro who camps out in the key takes out the trash for a slappy bucket. The best part was in the end of the 4th Kobe got called for a foul behind the 3 point line and then a tech was called on spains bench for wildin’ out, team USA got to shoot 4 freethrows in a row. That sealed the deal. Time to hit the weights spain.

So off to magic in a few hours, cant wait for the heat that Vegas holds. Come by the booth if you are at project cruisin around and say whats up to the MOSLEY crew.

CASSETTE

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Part One

Part Two

House of Cassette has been a personal favorite of mine for the last 2 years. It is great to support brands that do good work and that have great people behind them. The homies at Cassette (Peter, Jae, and Billy) Have been creating stand out pieces that reflect attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. So when I heard that Complex Mag did a video exclusive with the Homie Peter James Lee from House of Cassette, i couldnt wait to see what Pete brought to the table. Peep the video and learn about his world.

House of Cassette

Have a great weekend, i’m out.

FOTO FINISH

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Robbie and Aaron from Foto | 29 testing for the APOLIS ACTIVISM shoot. I have known Robbie for a while and it is great to be collaborating with him again.

Shea Parton prepping for Project next week.

Some of the new range, love the hoodie.

Sneak Peek, the brothers Shea and Raan have really come a long way, this is a brand that you should not sleep on. Classic Americana, fine tailoring and the best fabrics and knits that you can find. Thanks Tom Brown.

So Robbie and Aaron finished with the APOLIS looks and the homies Pigeon John and Flynn Adam rolled through the studio for a quick photo spot.

John and Flynn have a new musical expedition that they are working on right now. The band is called Root Beer and it is an anticipated release that has taken the indie music scene by storm. You might know them as being members of LA Symphony back in the day, now they are working on solo projcts. Both Flynn and Jon are wearing MOSLEY TRIBES flip up sunglasses called “The Gates” which is part of our newest collection that will drop in November. You might have seen them on hypebeast 2 weeks back. These are just sneak peeks, the true heat will drop in a few weeks. Thanks Robbie and Arron for the photo love.

Tony’s Deli

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I have been on this italian kick for the last few weeks so on my way to the office today i cruised through my old stomping grounds to pick up lunch. Tony’s has been around for the last 50 years serving up great subs on fresh baked bread everyday. As a kid we and the homies would skate there after school for some grub. The classic is the Prosciutto de Parma with provolone and peppers.

While i was mashing up the 101 doing 85 and i had to slow down because i saw this ride being towed. The M3 being towed is my favorite year 1995. I love the box style look, this one is outfitted with slicks, i bet they are on there was to Arroyo up north to run. The BMW M3 is a high performance BMW M version of the popular BMW 3-Series compact automobile. M3 models have been derived from the E30, E36, E46 and E90/2/3 3-series. Common upgrades over the “standard” 3-Series automobiles include more powerful and responsive (yet at times smaller) engines, improved handling/suspension, more aggressive aerodynamics/body, and multiple interior/exterior accents with the “M”/Motorsport nomenclature.

Point and Shoot

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Now that all of our lives have gone digital a good compact camera is a must. Japanese electronics company, Ricoh, just released their new R10 compact digital camera with lots of firepower. It features a 3-inch screen, 7.1x optical zoom, and a 10-megapixel CCD sensor that can shoot from ISO80 to ISO1600. Not only that, but it also has four-person face recognition, anti-shake compensation, 1-cm macro mode, and easy presets that automatically levels the contrast and sharpness of the images. It comes in black, brown, and silver, and will be available September 5th in Japan.

SK8OLOGY

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Turning skateboards into canvasesfor a worthy cause. In the tradition of pairing contrasts in order to create new mediums of expression, Long Beach, California based non-profit ISM: a community project presents, “SK8OLOGY: fine art on skateboards”, an exhibition that combines skateboard counter culture with the world of fine art. On Saturday August 23, 2008, at 7 p.m. ISM: a community project, dedicated tobenefiting the youth of the local and global community through artistic enrichment, will be hosting their annual fundraiser to support the organizations’ work in the Arts. A portion of the proceeds will also support Now That You Know, a non-profit organization that helps to provide ambitious girls from developing countries a secure environment for learning and growth. The exhibition will showcase over 180 creative deck canvases donated by some of today’s most gifted artists, professional skateboarders and celebrities. Skateboarding legends Craig Stecyk, Nathan Pratt, Steve Caballero and Danny Gonzales have all contributed along with Jason Lee from My Name is Earl and Mike Shinoda of Linkin’ Park. Countless internationally recognized artists have also joined the cause including Audrey Kawasaki, Amy Sol, Chet Zar, Luke Chueh, Pearl C Hsiung, Sandow Birk, Tessar Lo, and Yoskay Yamamoto.
