So i am back in town and back to hustle and bustle of the city and the holidays. Hawaii is one of my favorite places to go, I was telling jon that he should roll out only 4.5 hour flight and you are in paradise. Me and my wife posted up in Oahu for 3 days it is nice, it feels like LA with way better beaches. This was her first time there so we did the usual waikiki tourist stuff, we hiked up Diamond Head to catch the awesome view. It was about a 45 minute hike. Diamond head used to be a military look out, it had a hill top bunker that was used to scout enemy ships and at one time housed canons and artillery. So on day 3 we packed up and jetted off to Kauai for 8 more days of island living. Kauai is the oldest island in the Hawaiian Island chain and is also home to the wettest spot on earth, more rain falls annually on Mount Waiʻaleʻale and is home to many waterfalls. I have family that lives in Kapaa, Kauai (eastside of the island) and have been coming here since i was 2 years old. This year we decided to hang out here for thanksgiving and visit the fam and hang out in the country. Kauai is the opposite of LA it has Clean Air, Clean Water, Open Spaces, No Traffic, Fresh Ahi Tuna that is dirt cheap, Beaches that are world class. So I hope that i have convinced you all to visit Kauai you will feel like you have traveled to heaven, and I hope that someday I can open up a fish taco stand and call this place my home.

Buscemi and I cruised down to Melrose Place wednesday after a little bento box to check out the newest collaboration in the action sports world. Burton recently purchased legendary Santa Barbara surf brand Channel Islands and opened a “mall sized” retail store. The store is filled with product from Burton’s family of brands, but my favorite part was the hundreds of boards from Al Merrick ranging from 5′9 fishtails to 7′2 rail thick big wave gunners and amazing 9′0 longboards. Al Merrick shapes are arguably the most famous boards in the history of surfboards as they have been the preferred board for Kelly Slater’s entire career as well as the likes of Rob Machado, Kalani Robb and others.

The DJing was also off the hook but for some reason no one noticed that Prince Paul was tearing up the 1’s and 2’s. Your good friend Dwayne Wayne stopped by too.
