On monday of this week i packed my northface bag and hopped on a plane to the Hawaiian Islands. I have been coming to Hawaii since I was really young, it is nice to have family in the islands that you can pop over on a cheap flight and post up for a week or a month. So my wife and I came to Kauai for the holidays to enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves and not the traffic that runs our great city. So this morning i got up to check out the sunrise and and enjoy some coffee on our patio. Heard that the surf is gonna be big today about 10 feet gonna head to the Hanalei on the north shore and see who is rippin. Ill keep you posted.

3-on-3 Z

A few weeks back, the Nike ID lab teamed up with Stones Throw Records for its first annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted by DJ Peanut Butter Wolf. A couple of us ballers from the MOSLEY TRIBES crew gathered to compete against 15 other retail stores located in the Los Angeles areas. Teams from Undefeated, Turntable Lab, Amoeba Music, Supreme, SLB, and more were all in the mix. The MOSLEY TRIBES team, although undersized, and maybe a little out of shape, reached the playoff by coming in 2nd out of our group before losing to a team that had Michael Olowokandi’s 6′11 brother on the team. Some may say it was luck that got us to two upset victories, but us here know that it was all heart. Check out the video of the event at VIMBY.

An addit

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

So later on in the day Amanda (Art Director/OLIVER PEOPLES) and myself cruised up to the newest edition to the OLIVER PEOPLES family. The Malibu Country Mart is the newest boutique to open up for OLIVER PEOPLES, it is right next to Ron Herman and across the street from our friends at FREE CITY. The design of the building is so sick I love the integration of wood and glass, the structure has a very organic but sophisticated feel to it. It will be officially opened this Saturday and big ups to G. Leight for holding it down for the MT crew in Malibu. So when you cruise to the store say whats up and ask him about his signature skate move, Dogtown son.

Yesterday me and Michelle (OLIVER PEOPLES) cruised to the hills and scoped out a possible location for a photo shoot. I have to say that the simplicity of the design of the house was on point. Plus, the view of LA was so dope! I love the seasons in LA 80 degrees no clouds and we are headed down to the beach in the middle of November, it doesn’t get any better then this.

Look how much our “Fight Club” frame is selling for!! It’s unbelievable. This frame was $300 when we had it and Brad Pitt didn’t even put this specific one for sale on his face. Given we only made 300 total, making it extremely limited edition. But, a buy-it-now price of $7500. Why didn’t I keep one ?!?!?!

Lately I’ve been addicted to searching for the origin of some of my all-time favorite rap songs. What got me started was a recent mix-tape I received entitled “Graduation Hosted By Kanye West.” All it is really is a 28 track mix-tape, with all of the songs from his latest release “Graduation,” only they’re mixed in with some of the original samples, live performances, miscellaneous studio cuts, and 5 or 6 new tracks. It’s incredible. Anyway, the point of my story is that weekly I will be putting up a random original sample for your listening pleasure, and if you feel up to it, write to me if you recognize the track that this sample was used for. The first one is an all-time classic.
